Designer Collection by Martino Gamper

Putting the accent back on the process of manufacture and creation, in which he plays a direct role, Martino Gamper has invented “Gamperana Triplex,” a new type of wood that does not exist in nature. The phase of cutting of the ALPI log becomes part of the creative process of the designer, because it determines the achievement of the final result.
A thrilling challenge that led the designer to gradually interpret the wood, dissecting it and putting it back together: a concept of play that also returns in the name “Gamperana Triplex,” in imaginary Latin.

Starting with a geometric texture that plays with the juxtaposition of natural tones and chromatic accents, Gamper creates three variations of the same design, organized in three different sheets. The same decoration thus comes alive in different interpretations, like a pictorial subject seen from different vantage points.
The project conveys a cognitive approach to the material that perfectly reveals the designer’s modus operandi and poetics. Martino Gamper has an innate desire to experiment, to search and then to mix, reposition and recontextualize. The result, as often happens in Gamper’s projects, comes from a range of perspectives, fragments and contrasts springing from an act of deconstruction, inventing a new project every time. The designer thus brings life to new realities and interpretations of the material.

Designer Collection by Piero Lissoni

Piero Lissoni presents his personal interpretation of wood materials, exploring the characteristics expressive language of this element and adding new atmospheres to the range of offerings of the Designer Collections.

Through in-depth study of wood and its textures, Lissoni focuses his research on the identity of the material to repeat its nature and bring out its original identity while amplifying aesthetic potential.

This vision has led to the idea of extending the line of cherry varieties begun last year, expanding the Xilo 2.0 collection. The art director has thus created new shades of cherry making it even more contemporary. The result is a special interpretation of the wood and the force of its colors, enhancing the very essence of the materials.

Prefinished “ALPIkord”

ALPI will also present the ALPIkord collection, a decorative wood surface that combines the quality and uniqueness of ALPI woods with the practicality of prefinished wood.
The ALPIkord collection offers 33 patterns that include natural replicas as well as the Designer Collections Xilo 2.0 and Velò by Piero Lissoni, and the famous ALPI wood by the great master Ettore Sottsass. Every pattern is offered with a finish that brings out the natural character and color of every type of wood, with the possibility of edge banding in the same variety, generating solutions bearing a precise ALPI stylistic signature: in-depth research on the material and ongoing innovation concentrated on product, to bring out the image and design potential of wood.
This collection also introduces the new Touch finish created to conserve the natural character of the wood, thanks to a delicate surface treatment that brings a soft sensation, pleasing to the touch.
This new development is joined by the Groove and Wax finishes. The former emphasizes the texture and substance of the material, providing a tactile effect similar to that of raw wood, while the latter gives the product the delicate look typical of natural wax and oil treatments.
ALPIKord represents a solution that permits reduction of working, finishing and installation times, thanks to a unique product that is ready for application to all surfaces.

About us

Company details

A leader in the production of decorative surfaces in wood composite, ALPI was the first company to industrialize this manufacturing process: the Alpilignum veneer, made by separating and reassembling a log of real wood, offers countless design approaches and aesthetic results.

A professional partner for large companies in the automotive and yachting sectors, as well as prestigious names in product design, interior architecture and the contract market, ALPI stands out on the worldwide scene for its direct control of the entire supply and production chain, from the timber to the finished product, starting with forestry management. The firm provides a guarantee of legal and sustainable origin of the wood, and total product traceability. ALPI therefore ensures supply of an eco-responsible product.

This unique approach is based on major investments in R&D, raw materials of the highest quality, cutting-edge technologies and painstaking bespoke workmanship. In fact, innovation has always been the driving force behind ALPI. This drive for innovation has also led to collaboration with Piero Lissoni, art director of the company since June 2015. Other important features include the wide product range and the remarkable ability to respond to the specific requirements of a highly diversified clientele, also through the study and development of custom solutions that can also be repeated over time for every single project.

Today ALPI – guided by Vittorio Alpi, grandson of the founder – operates in various industrial facilities employing 400 persons in Italy and over 1300 in Africa. The production of Alpilignum reached a level of 18 million square meters in 2018; the company’s products are distributed in over 60 countries.
